We begin by understanding the problem behind the problem. We identify key constraints through clear systems, research, and systematic venture processes.

This stage is about problem discovery, not pitching shiny tech. We work with operators, analysts, and mission owners to surface real capability gaps. The goal is to translate vague frustrations or inefficiencies into clearly defined problem statements that could be solved with technology. Ideas that don’t align with real defense priorities are cut early.

Here we test assumptions against reality. Concepts are reviewed with subject-matter experts, technical advisors, and end users in the field. We ask: is the tech feasible, can it integrate with existing systems, and does anyone in the chain of command care enough to adopt it? This phase is about stress-testing ideas until only the most viable survive.
